Even though I grew up in the same town as Colette and Peter, I don’t ever remember meeting them until Alicia and Jonathan’s wedding in Fort McMurray this past September. I am sure glad I met them now! They are all so nice! Both of them were in the wedding party and their adorable daughter was among an adorable trio of flower girls. I’ve been in Fort Mac twice since the wedding, and every time, I am lucky enough to shoot the most amazing people. This time was no exception.

Colette, Peter and the kids met me at my hotel, where we took some adorable shots of them in front of the Christmas tree in the lobby.

We were lucky enough to get a nice warm day, so then we headed outside for some casual outdoor shots. I can’t wait to see them all again at the next wedding we are all participating in, this time in Newfoundland!

Here are some more family portraits from my most recent trip to Fort McMurray. Kristi, Norm and Tanner met up with me at MacDonald Island and we took a really early morning walk along the river. The session started out really chilly, and the first sets of photos actually have frost on the ground. After a while though we found some gorgeous birch trees just right for sitting, and even Tanner posed for a few on the trees.

This session actually had been postponed from the morning before because there was some crazy fog happening in Fort McMurray. I was so glad we waited. It’s not every day you can get the intense blue skies we got in some of these photos!

Here are my favorites from your session guys, look forward to your proofs in a few days!

If I wasn’t a part of my own family, I would ask to be part of the Gallant family. My greatest friend Lori and the privilege of marrying into this clan, and really, I am glad she did. I want to be part of them, by proxy. You see, there are a lot of Gallants, and I am photographing my way through all of them it seems (my next Blog post will be Gallant based as well!) and I haven’t met a single one of them that I don’t immediately love. It’s the Atlantic air that makes them so awesome I think. Whatever it is, I freaking love them.

This is Pam, Sandy and Serenity. They are totally laid back, and super awesome- even with a baby and all of her stuff to tote. Oh, and if I tell you that Pam sports a Coach diaper bag, I probably don’t need to say much more!

Anyway, enough of my weird public profession of love for the Gallants, and more of their photos! Here’s a sneak peak of their session!

Few things in life are as important as preserving your memories! I offer relaxed photo sessions and fun and unobtrusive wedding photography! If you’ve taken a peek around the blog and website and love what you see, drop me a line! I can’t wait to meet you! Wedding Photographers Edmonton

Lyndal and her little boys met up with myself and Bridget this past Friday at the playground. The goal was some cute headshots for her new website for her new business venture! Lyndal will be running the Edmonton North Chapter of Mommy Connections (www.mommyconnections.ca), an awesome post natal program for Moms! With weekly presenters, Mommy Connections gives new Moms a great place to meet new friends, and hear fantastic presentations on topics relevant to them!

These are my favorite shots from the few minutes we managed to snag at the park with the kids, can you guess which one she picked for her website? You’ll have to check out www.mommyconnections.ca to find out!

I love kids and I love Christmas, so when Shawna called me, wondering if I would be available to take photos at the Christmas party taking place on the base last Sunday, I was thrilled to say yes! My lovely Cheryl came with me, and we spent a fun afternoon photographing some beautiful children and some truly wonderful families with Santa Claus! I might have been as excited as the kids when I saw Santa pull up in a fire truck. I swear, it was all to do with Santa, and nothing to do with the Fireman ;)

Familes of these wondering kids can view and order the photos here! http://islandmistphotography.smugmug.com/Holidays/Santa/Photos-with-Santa/14966584_hPQp3 I have been swamped with emails wondering when these would be ready so I am happy to show you! Parents, please note that in order to have these photos prior to Christmas, all orders must be placed on or before December 14, 2008.

I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Amy
