When I got to Fort McMurray last week to visit my friend Lori and to shoot some family portraits while I was in town, I asked to see her wedding dress. It was literally in a crumple in her closet. Knowing how awesome she is, I suggested we shoot a Trash the Dress session around Fort McMurray.
After what might well be the longest ever trip to Earl’s, we were much later getting started than I intended. But we made the best of what we had left of the light. It was funny on our way home, that we drove past a wedding arch that someone had set up near one of those man made lakes. You might have thought I lost my mind when I jammed on the brakes of the rental car so we could use it.
Here are a sprinkle of the photos we shot. Lori was awesome, rockin’ her rubber boots so she could climb into muck wherever I needed her to. Her lovely sister Krista was a wonderful assistant! I can’t wait to shoot her Trash the Dress photos when I get to St. John’s next month!
If you are interested in booking your own Trash the Dress session, please note that Lori’s dress was in no way harmed in the making of these fabulous images! You can email islandmistphotography@gmail.com or call (780) 271-7082 to book your own session!

Some real awesome contrasting scenes to that pure white dress. Kudos to the model. She sure did rock that dress!
