These engagment photos were so much fun to shoot! Chris, Holly and I headed out to Red Willow Park in St. Albert and spent some time on the beautiful walking trail there. Holly and I knew each other way back when we were young girls in Newfoundland, but we had a chance to get reacquainted last year when her sister Shelly hired me to shoot her super fun wedding. I was thrilled to hear from Holly when she let me know it was time to shoot engagement photos of herself and Chris!

This girl is full of personality and was incredibly willing to do whatever I asked her to get these shots. It was a pleasure to work work her. Edmonton Photographer | Boudoir Photography | Cheryl

Cheryl is awesome. I normally don’t get to post many boudoir photos, for obvious reasons, but I am thrilled I get to share these. Originally, we were shooting this boudoir session as a suprise wedding give for Cheryl’s husband to be, John. However, since Horatio Cain has nothing on his investigative abilities, he figured out with not much trouble what she was up to! Well, whether he sees them as a weding present the night before the wedding or he sees them now (of course Cheryl gave me the all clear to post these- I don’t like to ruin suprises) I am sure he will LOVE them. I think she really rocked this photoshoot!

Trash the Dress session in Fort McMurray but Edmonton Wedding and Portrait Photographer, Amy Donovan

When I got to Fort McMurray last week to visit my friend Lori and to shoot some family portraits while I was in town, I asked to see her wedding dress. It was literally in a crumple in her closet. Knowing how awesome she is, I suggested we shoot a Trash the Dress session around Fort McMurray.

After what might well be the longest ever trip to Earl’s, we were much later getting started than I intended. But we made the best of what we had left of the light. It was funny on our way home, that we drove past a wedding arch that someone had set up near one of those man made lakes. You might have thought I lost my mind when I jammed on the brakes of the rental car so we could use it.

Here are a sprinkle of the photos we shot. Lori was awesome, rockin’ her rubber boots so she could climb into muck wherever I needed her to. Her lovely sister Krista was a wonderful assistant! I can’t wait to shoot her Trash the Dress photos when I get to St. John’s next month!

Here is another family photo session that I shoot recently while I was visiting Fort McMurray. I was in love with their dog, and I totally think you’ll see why! What a beautiful animal. It was great hanging out with April and Steven and their son at Borealis Park in Fort McMurray. I hope they enjoy this sneak preview of their photos!

Edmonton Wedding & Family Photographer | Fort McMurray Family Photos | Gallant, Bursey, Whiffen

Last weekend I made a trip to Fort McMurray to spend some long over due time with my good friend Lori. We have been friends since Brownies. Yup. Little brown suits with orange scarves and a coin purse. We were stylish 6 year olds ;)

While I was there, I took bookings for family portraits, and I was thrilled when they made a whole big family session out of theirs! It was great to catch up with her sister Krista and meet Krista’s husband Mark, along with their handsome son Madden. I also loved seeing her mom and dad, and having the chance to shoot a photo of them with their grandkids! Of course it was super fun hanging out with Lori, Phil (who unfortunately didn’t get to hang out too much with me due to working night shifts ;) and the kiddos! Bridget and Presly got on like a house on fire!

It was an excellent weekend, and I can hardly wait to do it all again in the fall! Don’t forget to come back to see Lori’s awesome Trash the Dress session tomorrow!
