Baby photos in Spruce Grove, Alberta

Yesterday I had the privlege of shooting a super cute baby in Spruce Grove! They are actually from my hometown, Clarenville, Newfoundland but are here in Alberta for a few days. I was so glad I had the opportunity to hang out with them for a bit. I haven’t seen his mom since High School, and she still looks great. I am editing these today, and when I got to this one my heart melted. I am not ready to show any more yet, but I love this this one and needed to show the world. So Amanda, here is a teaser of what is to come!

Seeing someone from home made even more excited to go back to Newfoundland in August! Now I really can’t wait!

Portrait in Edmonton of Angie
Sometimes it’s fun to just have a girls day! That’s just what this hot Mama did on Saturday. After passing a big exam, she got all dressed up in a couple of her favorite outfits, put some fantastic Steve Madden’s on her feet and headed out with me! After our original location didn’t work out, we headed out in search of a new one, and ended up coming back to one of my all time favorite places in Edmonton! I think we made a great choice!

It’s always fun to get out and try new things! When my friend Kerry, owner of Bride on a Budget on Whyte Ave asked me if I could stop by and take some photos of the girls she coaches in cheer, I was very excited. It’s been a long time since I was in Junior High! These girls were awesome!

The team was having a Cheer-a-thon today to raise money to buy new uniforms. The once they are wear in these photos are the ones the cheer team wore back in the 70′s! How cool is that? I even heard a rumor that one of the girls Mom’s wore those uniforms back when she was in school. I think that’s just awesome.

I was so glad that Taylor and Jordan came to hang out with me in Rundle Park on Sunday. It was a super nice day in one half of the sky, and raining on the other half. It was a crazy lighting day to say the least! We had fun though I think! (Well I did anyway). The girls were so cute. No matter what I asked them to do they did it like troopers, and they did it in unison. Totally cute. Girls, I hope you like seeing yourselves on the computer like I promised!

Remember when you graduated from Junior High and headed off to High School? Do you remember how exciting that was? I remember. I also remember the outfit I wore to the big event. It was a light brown burlap sack colored, smocky jumper type number, with a dark brown T-shirt in under, with brown Penny Loafers. I was that cool.

Anyway. Things have changed. Look how awesome Amanda looks heading off to her grade 9 graduation. I think she looks stunning. Certainly much more stylish than a potato sack jumper looking dress and penny loafers. Just sayin’.

Congratulations Amanda as you enter this next exciting phase of your life. I hope you love high school as much as I did. And yes- I loved High School. I am ridiculously cool, I know!

Here are a few photos that I took this week when Bridget and I met up with Rebecca and her boys at Rundle Park. I have to apologize to poor Gabriel that he is not on the blog- but he was so busy entertaining Bridget that he didn’t have many of his own pictures. However, as an oldest child myself, I will rationalize that since Rebecca is a fantastic photographer herself , and Gabe is the oldest, I am sure there are billions of photos of him, from way before Issac came along. But that’s just how I rationalize it. Sorry Gabe, really I am.

Anyway, I hope you love these as much as I do. Rebecca is by far and away one of my favorite people in Edmonton. You know when you move all the way across the country to a city where you have never even visited and you leave all your family and friends all the way back in Newfoundland? Well Rebecca is the person you hope to meet when you get there. Even though we don’t see each other nearly often enough, she really is one of those people with a great inner light who draw you in and keep you there. And she hugs you everytime you see her, and when you are leaving. Just sayin’. I love the two photos of her and Issac. Just because that’s just how I see them. She is a great mom, in addtion to being a great person, and you only have to look at little Isaac’s face to see it!

Oh, and I should mention the purpose of the meetup was to actually take new headshots of Rebecca for her sweet new website. You should definately check it out! I mean it!
